There are some great nature trails in Roanake, Alabama. The best trail is Odum Trail. Odum Trail goes right up the long mountain ridge of Cheaha Mountain. The trail is marked on the south end of the trail. As long as you stay on the ridge of the mountain, you will be able to stay on track of the trail. The person that is walking the trial will have to be careful for the low bush that is all long the trail. There are also a lot of wild turkeys along the trail.Check out this link here. There are a few rough spots so it is recommended to be an experienced trail walker. There is plenty of water to see during the winter months. It is over 4.7 miles round trip and takes about 3 hours or more to walk. It goes up to about 1000 ft. There are two creeks located on the trail. They are Salt Creek and Mill Shoal Creek. It is a great place to camp out at. October is the best time to take the trail because of the weather conditions. The temperatures range between 90 and 60 degrees.
